1. HC refuses to postpone IIT JEE Mains exam scheduled in January.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday refused to defer the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) JEE Mains examinations scheduled this month A division bench of Chief Justice S V Gangapurwala and Justice Sandeep Marne held that it would not be appropriate to postpone the pan-India examination in response to a Public Interest Litigation as it would affect lakhs of IIT aspirants. 


2. Kerala HC asks CBSE to respond to trans gender's request.

The Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to file its response to the demand of a transgender, who was born a female but recently changed gender and name and wants to make changes in his CBSE certificates of 10 and 12th standards.


3. Fourth round of admission to ayurveda, homoeopathy courses begins.

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) on Monday announced that the fourth round of admissions in homoeopathy and Ayurveda courses have started. The students have to give their online consent to participate in the admission round starting from January 9 and the last date to give consent will be January 13.

The higher education regulatory body, University Grants Commission (UGC), has asked the universities to devise facilitative mechanisms through statutory bodies to allow students to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously.

6. Trying to set up one engineering, medical college in each district Bihar CM.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said the 'Mahagathbandhan' government is trying to set up at least one medical college and hospital in every district and "working tirelessly" to augment health infrastructure so that people do not have to go outside the state for better treatment.
