1. AIIMS Delhi study shows hybrid learning is the future of medical education.

A recent study conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, suggests that hybrid education is the way forward for medical education in India. The study found that the structured virtual group discussion (sVGD) format is a more effective and interactive approach than conventional virtual learning. This innovation may act as a torchbearer for implementing small-group teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students across specialties.


2. Grade 11 Student Develops AI Model To Predict Election Results Using Sentiment Polarity Scores.

A class 11th student Prajwal Reddy developed an Artificial Intelligence model to predict election results. The AI model developed by Prajwal uses sentiment polarity score. Studying at Greenwood High International School, Prajwal Reddy used his AI model to analyse tweets from various Karnataka politicians. The model focuses on engagement ratings of the tweets tweeted by politicians. The model assign a score on the basis of the tweet’s content, language, number of likes, replies, and retweets.


3. Fravashi International Academy celebrated its 13th Annual Day for the students of grades VII and VIII.

Morning and an evening show based on the theme, 'Immunity' was presented through the famous american musical drama, ‘The Sound of Music’. The events began with a melodious performance by the school choir, ‘Encore - Infinite’ consisting of 39 budding musicians. The Chief Guests, Mr. Abhijit Junagade and Mrs. Janisha Daryani were all praises for the poetry recitation, the drama, songs and dances and were in awe of all the hard work put in by the students as well as the tutors. The meritorious students were rewarded with the Apex Star Awards to honour their achievements in academic and non–academic arena.


4. Tamil Nadu daily wager’s daughter scores 600/600 in Class 12.

The 17-year-old daughter of a daily wager has scored 600 out of 600 marks in the Class 12 Tamil Nadu state board exams. The results were announced on Monday. S Nandhini of Annamalaiar Mills Girls Higher Secondary School, a government-aided school in Dindigul district, scored 100/100 in all six subjects — Tamil, English, economics, commerce, accountancy, and computer application. “My father’s hard work is the reason where I am today. He kept telling me that my education is my wealth and encouraged me to pursue my dreams,” said an emotional Nandhini.


5. Schools closed for students up to Class 8 in J&K districts due to heavy rains and snowfall.

Schools are closed for students up to Class 8 in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar districts due to heavy rains and fresh snowfall. The inclement weather has also adversely impacted the horticulture and nomadic sectors in the region. The flooding situation triggered by heavy rains has forced authorities to close all schools, including government and private, up to the middle level (Class 8) in Ramban district. 


6. 51 Rajasthan students stuck in violence-hit Manipur flown to Jaipur.

Two special flights arranged by the Rajasthan government on Monday evening brought back 51 students from the state stranded in violence-hit Manipur, officials said here. The state government has also made arrangements for boarding and lodging facilities for these students, they said. On Sunday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had said his government would bear the travel costs of students of Rajasthan returning home from the northeastern state, as he directed officials to ensure their safe return. 


7. IIM Shillong organises faculty development programme in general management and research methodology.

Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIMS) will be holding a five-day sponsored residential Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on general management and research methodology from today at Umsawli campus. The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy and Research of IIMS has organised the FDP for faculty members of higher education institutions in the North Eastern Region (NER). The programme will be held from May 8 to May 12.  According to the official statement, the FDP will aim to train the trainers by providing them with the skills required to teach and disseminate knowledge which will contribute to the growth of the North East region and the country.
