1. Gyan offers free computer education for government school and college students.

In a move to empower the youth with computer education, Gyan has announced free courses in Tally Basic and Advance for all government school and college students. Gyan, located in Ashirwad Building, Koppikar Road in Hubballi, has taken this initiative to bridge the digital divide and ensure that every student has access to essential computer skills.


2. Earth Day Celebration of KIIT World School, Gurugram.

For the past 40 years, Earth Day has been celebrated around the world to call attention to some of our most pressing environmental and social problems, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and dwindling natural resources. Students of KIIT World School from Class VI presented an assembly on ‘Earth Day’ to educate fellow students on the importance of sustainable development and taking care of our planet.


3. KIIT hosts event centred on gender equality and women empowerment.

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) hosted an event titled civil 20 (C20) centred on gender equality and women empowerment on April 22, 2023. The event was a part of the G20 framework and will be held for two days at the KIIT campus. KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta was present in the summit, along with C20 chairperson Amritanandamayi and others.


4. BML Munjal University signs agreement with Zell education to offer ACCA certifications to BCom students.

BML Munjal University signed an agreement with Zell education, a finance and accounts Ed-tech platform. The agreement was aimed at offering integrated programmes to students starting from July 2023 onwards, to complete ACCA with several exemptions to fast track the certification, a statement from the university said. University registrar Abhay Sharma and Zell education co-founder Anant Begani signed the agreement.


5. IIT Delhi sets up Venus chair to promote research on fibrous air filters.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed an agreement with Venus Safety and Health Private Limited. The agreement has been signed to set up a Venus chair at the institute to promote excellence and leadership in teaching, research and development in the area of fibrous air filters, a statement from the institute said. Venus Safety and Health Private Limited is based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.


6. Telangana Teenager’s ‘Stories on Wheels’ Provide Books to Students of Remote Area Govt Schools.

A chance vacation to a village inspired a student from Telangana to launch ‘Stories on Wheels’, a mobile library that provides access to books and empowers rural students from government schools. The teenager’s initiative is now being appreciated by people from all walks of life. Ananya Polsani has been studying in Class 11 at Chirec Public School in Hyderabad. She got a chance to visit her maternal grandmother’s village a few months ago and there Ananya visited the library at a government school.


7. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Launches Online Course in Rigveda's Geography.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s School of Spiritual and Cultural Studies has launched a one-year free online certification course titled ‘Rigvedic Geography’, scheduled to commence on today, April 22. The course is open to everyone and upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, it said.
