1. NMC approves 100 seats for new medical college in Odisha.

The National Medical Commission has approved 100 MBBS seats for a new government medical college in Odisha's Keonjhar district. As per an official, the college will promote medical education in the tribal regions.

 

2. UGC Chairman discusses issues in higher education with VCs of central universities.

The University Grants Commission, UGC, chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar, recently conducted a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors of all Central universities to discuss the various issues related to higher education.  

 

3. Delhi Govt repeals private school recognition for not accepting students under EWS Quota.

The Delhi government has withdrawn official recognition of a Rajinder Nagar private school for refusing admissions under the EWS quota and not providing free stationery, books, and uniforms to the students already admitted under the category, as reported by officials on Wednesday.

 

4. OP Jindal collaborates with Cornell University to build global hub in India.

OP Jindal Global University in Sonipat on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the United States’ Cornell University to build a ‘global hub’ in India. Cornell University, an ivy league university, has launched a ‘Global Hubs’ programme this year to connect with its international peer institutions and their communities, countries, and regions.
