1. Uttar Pradesh to get 1,300 new MBBS seats, 13 medical colleges from 2023-24.

Dept of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday announced addition of 1,300 new MBBS seats in medical colleges run by the state government. Thirteen new medical colleges will start from the 2023-24 academic year, it said. Informing this, DME UP tweeted: “1300 MBBS seats will be increased in Government Medical Colleges of @MeUPGovt, bringing a vital change in the medical education sector of the state. 13 new medical colleges will be started from the new session 2023-24.”


2. UGC NET December 2022 Exams Rescheduled in Delhi For 77 Students Affected by Technical Glitch.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is rescheduling the examination dates for applicants affected by the technical issues on March 11 (second Shift) at one of the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) centres in Delhi. A total of 77 candidates could not complete their examination on Saturday, March 11, due to network issues.

4. Students dropping out of matric exam will be given another chance to clear papers: Odisha minister SR Dash.

Odisha’s school and mass education minister SR Dash on Tuesday said that students, who dropped out of the ongoing Class 10 state board examination, would be given another opportunity to clear the papers.

The minister, during an assembly session, stated that a supplementary examination would be held in due course of time, and the students, who skipped the ongoing matriculation exam, can then sit for the test. Dash stated that officials would visit the students to find out what prompted them to drop out.


5. Common assessment for govt, pvt school students impossible: Private Schools to Karnataka HC.

Arguing against the 'Board' assessment for students of classes 5 and 8, the Organisation for Unaided Recognised Schools and the Registered Unaided Private Schools’ Management Association on Tuesday told a division bench of the High Court of Karnataka that the syllabus in Government and private schools are different.


6. G20 Meet to begin in Amritsar tomorrow.

The 2nd Education Working Group Meeting of G20 will begin in Amritsar from March 15 to 17. The meeting will focus on furthering the discussion held during the 1st G20 Education Working Group meeting held in Chennai from February 1 to 2. Notably, India holds the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023.
