EducationToday conducted the 9th National Conference on K-12 leadership & India School Merit Awards on the 11th & 12th of March, 2022 at the Chancery Pavilion Hotel, Bangalore. The conference hosted a massive gathering of consultants, principals, educators and stake holders all under one roof from across the country, to participate in some insightful discussions and brainstorming sessions. The award show witnessed some of the top schools from various categories being awarded and felicitated. 
The conference went on with some extremely insightful panel discussions where we witnessed some eminent personalities from the education fraternity share their thoughts on crucial topics pertaining to the current situation in the education sector.
One of the panel discussions on the first day of the conference was held on the topic – ‘Are Edtech companies & homeschooling posing a threat to the existing education system - Myth vs. Reality’. This was a brilliant session that brought together the insights of some amazing educators - Dr. D. Usha Reddy – Principal & CEO of Meridian Group of Schools, Mrs. Revathi Srinivasan – Director - Education and Principal of Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, Thane, Dr. Kavita Aggarwal - Director/Head of School of D.G. Khetan International School and Ms. Suseela Santhosh – Director of Vishwa Vidyapeeth Group of Schools. 
The panel discussion was chaired by Dr. D. Usha Reddy, who put forth some relevant questions to the other panellists, such as whether they feel technology is being a threat to the offline schooling system with schools now reopening post pandemic, and what according to the panellists are the positives and threats posed by the companies that provide online education. The answers were thought-provoking which overall rendered the discussion fruitful.
