"Uttar Pradesh Private Schools to Close in Solidarity with Arrested Principal and Teacher: On August 8, private schools in Uttar Pradesh affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and UP Board will remain closed as a gesture of support for a school principal and teacher who were arrested in Azamgarh following the tragic incident where a girl student jumped off the school building. 


2. Cambridge University launches fellowship to study Indian indentured labour history.

The University of Cambridge has created the world's first visiting fellowship for the study of indentured labor, a system that replaced slavery during British colonization. 


3. 9 of 150 medical colleges initially under scanner continue to be barred from admitting students.
