The education department has stated that students who are currently in UKG but wouldn't be six years old by June 2023 will have to repeat one year to become eligible for class 1.

5. NCPCR seeks report from Bihar govt schools that observe Friday as a weekly holiday instead of Sunday.:

The apex child rights body National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Wednesday sought an explanation from the Bihar government regarding the 37 plus government schools in a Muslim-dominated district in the state observing a weekly holiday on Friday instead of Sunday. As per media reports, 37 government schools in five blocks of Bihar’s Kishanganj district, which has a significant Muslim population, have been observing Friday as their weekly holiday instead of Sunday.

 

6. NDMC to provide skill training to 25,000 people in partnership with NSDC & IIT Delhi.:

The New Delhi Municipal Council will impart skill training to 25,000 people in the next six months in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation, as said by the civic body's Vice Chairman, Satish Upadhyay on Wednesday.

 

7. UGC identifies 374 educationally backward districts across India.

An expert committee under the University Grants Commission (UGC) has identified 374 educationally backward districts (EBDs) with a gross enrolment ratio (GER) in higher education less than the national average of 12.4 percent, informed the minister of state in the education ministry, Subhas Sarkar to the Rajya Sabha.
