Left-leaning women's organization All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) has demanded the withdrawal of a letter from the University Grants Commission directing all central universities to hold lectures on ancient Indian democracy, alleging that the proposed themes glorified anti-women ancient texts and traditions.


2. IAF school building inaugurated in Jammu.

The government of Telangana will distribute 33 lakh adolescent health kits to girl students studying in government schools and junior colleges over the next 18 months According to a Government Order (GO), the kits will be distributed among girl students studying in 8th class to Intermediate (second year) in government schools and colleges under adolescent health programme.

Delhi University plans to increase the fees for PhD thesis evaluation by over Rs 2,500 for all students The thesis submission fee, which was earlier Rs 5,000 for students with a fellowship, is likely to surge to Rs 7,500, which is a 50 per cent hike.


5. NHRC issues notice to Punjab govt over lack of educational facilities in Kaluwara village.

The National Human Rights Commission has sent a notice to the Punjab government over a media report that students in Kaluwara village in the state do not have access to proper educational facilities.
