The education and recruitment landscape has seen several important developments across states in recent days, ranging from new teacher appointments and academic research initiatives to upcoming examinations and recruitment results. Here is a look at the latest updates.

New Developments Across Education and Recruitment


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that the state government plans to appoint 4,000 more teachers within the next six months. The announcement was made while addressing a public gathering in Nogli in Shimla district. According to the Chief Minister, more than 10,000 teachers have already been recruited over the past three years. The state has also expanded CBSE-affiliated schooling, with more than 150 CBSE schools reportedly opened and around 2,000 teachers appointed in these institutions. In addition, 300 Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education-affiliated schools are being developed as Schools of Excellence.

The Ministry of Education has approved five Centres of Excellence for studies in Classical Assamese, Classical Bengali, Classical Marathi, Classical Pali and Classical Prakrit. These centres will be established at Tezpur University, Visva-Bharati University, Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Central University of Odisha and Central University of Gujarat, respectively. The initiative will support research, preservation, digitisation and wider dissemination of India's classical linguistic and literary heritage.

Examination and Recruitment Updates


Students preparing for the October session are also awaiting the NIOS date sheet 2026 for Classes 10th and 12th. The National Institute of Open Schooling is expected to release the theory examination timetable soon. Once announced, students will be able to check the subject-wise schedule through the official NIOS website.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has announced the final result for the 2025 Home Guard recruitment. A total of 41,424 candidates have been selected across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The selection followed written examinations, document verification, physical standard testing and the physical efficiency test.

The recruitment process attracted more than 25 lakh applications, making it a significant recruitment exercise. Selected candidates will be required to complete further verification and medical procedures before joining.
