These announcements bring important updates for job aspirants, students, parents, and educational institutions.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Registration Deadline Extended

The Bihar Public Service Commission has extended the registration deadline for the School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 2026. Candidates can now submit their online application forms until November 3rd, 2026, while the last date for fee payment is November 2nd.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 33,320 teaching vacancies across Bihar. The application deadline was previously October 26th. The commission has not yet announced the examination date.

SBI Extends Specialist Cadre Officer Recruitment Deadline

The State Bank of India has extended the application deadline for its Specialist Cadre Officers recruitment 2026 in the Wealth Management and Premier Banking Department. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications until October 31st.

The recruitment is being conducted on a contractual basis and covers 6 vacancies across 5 positions. The available posts include:

Candidates should review the recruitment notification carefully before submitting their applications.

Karnataka Proposes New Rules for Coaching Centres

The Karnataka government has published draft regulations aimed at changing how coaching centres and tutorial institutions operate. The proposed Karnataka Tutorial Institutions or Coaching Centres (Registration and Regulation) Rules, 2026, seek to address academic pressure, fee transparency, student welfare and institutional accountability.

One of the major proposals is to restrict admission to students who have completed their secondary school examination. The draft also proposes limiting coaching sessions to 5 hours daily, with institutions permitted to operate only between 6 am and 9 pm. Classes would not be allowed during students' regular school or college hours.

Other important provisions include:

  • Coaching fees must be offered in at least 4 instalments

  • Students withdrawing from a course must receive a proportionate refund for unused classes within 10 days

  • Coaching centres must obtain mandatory registration before operating

  • Misleading advertisements promising guaranteed ranks or marks would be prohibited

  • Institutions must provide access to qualified counsellors and establish mechanisms to support students experiencing distress

  • Centres would need to disclose information about faculty qualifications, fees, courses and student outcomes

The proposed rules also prohibit institutions from forcing students to purchase books, notes or other study materials. Violations could attract penalties of up to ₹5 lakh. Existing institutions would receive 90 days from the commencement of the rules to apply for registration.

These provisions are currently proposals published in the state gazette and should not be treated as final regulations.
