Candidates preparing for government recruitment examinations have several important updates to note this October. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC GD Constable Result 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the PET 2026 city intimation slip, and the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed its 72nd Combined Competitive Examination preliminary test. Meanwhile, Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, hosted its 17th All-India Sports Meet, bringing together young athletes from across India.

SSC GD Constable Result 2026 Announced

The SSC has declared the results of the General Duty (GD) Constable Examination 2026 on its official website, ssc.gov.in. More than 1.97 lakh candidates have qualified in the computer-based examination. The commission has also published the cut-off marks and minimum qualifying marks. Qualified candidates should check the merit list and read the official instructions regarding the subsequent stages of selection. They should use the SSC website to confirm the requirements and schedule for the next stage rather than relying on unverified information circulating online.

UPSSSC PET 2026 City Intimation Slip Released

The UPSSSC has issued the city intimation slip for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026. Registered candidates can visit upsssc.gov.in to check their allotted examination city and district.

The examination is scheduled for 25th October, 30th October and 1st November 2026, with two shifts planned each day. Candidates should remember that the city intimation slip is not the admit card. The admit card, which provides the examination centre and relevant instructions, must be downloaded separately when released.

Candidates should verify their details and follow the commission’s latest notifications for further instructions.

BPSC 72nd Preliminary Examination Postponed

The BPSC has postponed the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination preliminary test, which had been scheduled for 25th October 2026. The commission has not yet announced a revised date.

The examination was previously postponed from its July schedule before being rescheduled for October. Candidates must now wait for a fresh announcement from the commission.

Aspirants are advised to continue preparing while regularly checking the official BPSC website for the new date and updates concerning the examination process.

Bal Bharati Public School Hosts National Sports Meet

In school news, Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, hosted the 17th All-India Sports Meet from 8th to 10th October 2026. Organised annually by the Sports Council of the Child Education Society (CES), the event brought together around 1,100 players from 24 Bal Bharati units across the country.

Students competed in seven disciplines:

  • Table tennis and badminton

  • Basketball and volleyball

  • Tennis and chess

  • Athletics

The opening ceremony on 8th October featured former Olympian hockey player and Arjuna Award recipient Ashok Dhyanchand as Guest of Honour. The event included the athletes’ oath, the lighting of the sports torch, the unveiling of the official mascot AGNIX, and cultural performances.

At the closing ceremony on 10th October, participants and coaches were recognised for their efforts. Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, secured the overall winner’s position, followed by BBPS Noida. The host school, BBPS GRH Marg, finished as second runners-up. Trophies were awarded to individual players and winning boys’ and girls’ teams across the seven sports.

The meet celebrated teamwork, discipline and sporting achievement, while giving students from different schools an opportunity to compete and learn from one another.

The developments offer candidates important information about upcoming examination procedures, while the All-India Sports Meet highlights the achievements of students competing beyond the classroom. EducationNewsNetwork continues to cover such updates across examinations, school events, and student accomplishments. Candidates should rely on official commission websites for recruitment updates, while events such as the Bal Bharati sports meet continue to offer young people opportunities to demonstrate their talents beyond the classroom.
