Major Education Updates: NTA Exam Calendar, JKBOSE Dates, AI Learning and CBSE Support

Several important developments in school and higher education have been announced this week, covering national entrance examinations, board exams, artificial intelligence learning, and academic support for government school students. The latest updates from the National Testing Agency (NTA), Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Tripura, and CBSE provide students with important information for the months ahead.

NTA Releases Tentative Exam Calendar for 2026-27

The National Testing Agency has released its tentative examination calendar for December 2026 to March 2027. The schedule includes several major entrance and eligibility examinations, giving students an early indication of the examination dates.

UGC-NET is scheduled to be conducted from December 14th to 19th, while December 20th and 21st have been kept as buffer dates. JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is proposed for January 22nd to 24th and January 28th to 30th, with January 31st as a buffer date. CUET PG 2027 is scheduled across several dates in March.

Other examinations included in the calendar are Joint CSIR-UGC NET, NIFT Entrance Examination, AISSEE, CMAT and NITTT. As the dates are tentative, candidates are advised to follow official NTA announcements for any subsequent changes.

JKBOSE Announces Class 10 Examination Schedule

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has released the Class 10th Secondary School Examination 2026 date sheet for the October-November session. The schedule applies to students in the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division and Ladakh.

The examinations will begin on October 19th with Mathematics and will be held from 11 am. Other papers include Urdu/Hindi, Science, English and Social Science, followed by subjects such as Music, vocational courses, Home Science, Painting and Computer Science. The last paper is scheduled for November 18th.

Students can use the examination schedule to organise their revision plans and prepare subject-wise for the board examinations.

Tripura Introduces AI Learning for Government School Students

Tripura has launched the ‘AI Utsav - Skill Competition 2026’ to provide free Artificial Intelligence courses to government school students from Classes VI to XII across all eight districts. Around 1,920 government schools with Classes VI to XII are proposed to be covered.

The courses will be delivered through the Skill India Digital Hub. Students who successfully complete the programme will be able to download a national certificate through the platform. The initiative also introduces students to emerging areas such as software development, cloud computing, cyber security, mobile applications and Industry 4.0.

The programme gives students an opportunity to gain early exposure to technology beyond the conventional school curriculum.

CBSE Begins Academic Support Programme in Ladakh

In another major school education development, CBSE has launched a month-long in-person academic support programme for Classes 10th and 12th students in government schools across Ladakh. The programme is being conducted from September 14th to October 14th across locations including Leh, Nubra, Zanskar, Kargil, Drass, Changthang and other high-altitude areas. More than 250 experienced teachers and resource persons from CBSE-affiliated schools have been nominated to support the programme. Sessions cover subject preparation, assessment strategies, examination techniques, time management and approaches to answering questions.

What Students Should Keep in Mind

Together, these developments highlight several areas that students and schools will need to follow closely:

  • Check tentative examination dates regularly for changes

  • Plan revision around confirmed board examination schedules

  • Explore opportunities for recognised technology and AI learning

  • Make use of academic support programmes where available

  • Follow official portals for registration, schedules and further instructions

For students navigating these announcements, EducationNewsNetwork brings together developments across examinations, school education and new learning initiatives in one space. The latest updates also show how examination planning, digital skills and targeted academic support continue to shape the current education calendar.

With major examinations approaching in the coming months and new learning initiatives being introduced at the school level, students should keep track of official announcements and make timely preparations for their respective academic requirements.
