The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has started the registration process for the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) January 2027 session. The entrance examination is conducted for admission to postgraduate medical courses at AIIMS and other participating Institutes of National Importance. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can submit their applications through the official AIIMS examination portal. The registration window opened on September 16th, 2026, and candidates can complete the application process until October 13th, 2026. The computer-based examination is scheduled to take place on November 1st, 2026. Courses Covered Under INI CET 2027
The examination provides admission to several postgraduate medical and dental programmes. The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode. It will consist of 200 objective-type questions and will have a duration of three hours. The examination also includes negative marking for incorrect answers.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the January 2027 session must meet the prescribed academic and internship requirements. Applicants seeking admission through the relevant medical programmes must hold an MBBS degree from a college recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and have completed the required one-year rotatory internship.
For General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, the minimum qualifying requirement is 55 per cent marks in the MBBS degree. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories require at least 50 per cent marks. Applicants should also check the detailed eligibility requirements applicable to their selected course before submitting the form.
Application Fee and Registration Process
The application fee for General, OBC, Foreign National, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and sponsored candidates is Rs 4,000. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and EWS categories are required to pay Rs 3,200. Differently abled candidates are exempt from the registration fee. To apply, candidates need to visit the official AIIMS examination portal and access the INI CET January 2027 registration link. They must enter the required personal and academic information, upload the prescribed documents, pay the applicable fee, and submit the completed application.
